As part of France South African Seasons 2012 2013, there will be a showcase of music from Cape Town at the Festival d’Automne a Paris 2013. The Cape Traditional Singers, musician Kyle Shepherd, Fezeka Youth Choir, 5 South African composers, traditional singers Isicathamiya / Isigekle from Kwa-Zulu Natal and the Cape Cultural Collective who present a poetry performance set to indigenous music. I will be part of the Cape Cultural Collective team along with poets Chris Ferndale, Khadija Heeger and musician Ncebakazi Mnukwana presenting a piece called uHadi – using the indigenous bow as a metaphor to reflect on the relationship between present day South Africa and our history and ancestry.
